Two tone basement

Jamie, Trent and I painted the back basement room tonight. We were
going to do white but decide on a two tone brown. It looks great and
Jamie deserves big props for doing the prep work.

Epic Rabbit 12/18/10

It was another EPIC day of powder on Rabbit Ears / Buff Pass. Stacy,
Ike and I rode 70 miles of non-stop powder and hardly saw anyone until
we started heading back.

First Ride

For the past nine years I have been riding Arctic Cat but things endly
badly for my cat last year. After much debate between renting, buying
or giving up on snowmobiling I bit the bullet and bought a new 2011
Polaris RMK Pro.

The first ride on the new RMK was with the Blizzards to the Snowies
from Albany. In Albany itself the snow was thin but as we went up in
elevation the snow got deeper and deeper.

Many good things were said about the new RMKs and it's part of the
reason I chose Polaris. Well, I'm happy to report that the sled lives
up to the hype. Even though we took things easy today since we were
doing engine break-ins on the new sleds I couldn't be more excited
about a sled. It's powerful, smooth, quite, comfortable and nimble.

With good early season snow and a new sled the 2010/2011 sled season
looks very promising.

Bluebird day on Rabbit Ears

If you get to sled by Thanksgiving you are lucky and this year we have
been super lucky. So far November 2010 has been Steamboats snowiest
November ever. Today we got to play in that snow under clear bluebird
skies. We rode 60 miles of meadows and trees filled with endless
powder from Rabbit Ears to Buffalo Pass and back.

Thanksgiving Rabbit with Dad

After sharing a nice Thanksgiving meal in Steamboat with the family,
Dad and I went to Rabbit Ears for an afternoon ride. The snow was
great and the sunset was great. The only problem was the new
snowmobile. It kept on tipping over but it's designed to do that and
I'm having fun learning how to ride it.

Golden Elk Herd

On my way to work this morning traffic came to a stop. As I got
closer I saw it was for good reason. A large elk herd was crossing
6th from Golden to Lookout Mountain.

It was a long drive from Denver Satuday morning because the roads were
a sheet of ice but we were rewarded with 2 feet of powder and fresh
tracks all day long.
